Captain Ball isn't just for Guides. There are competitions for senior section & guiders too.

Our division Guider Captain Ball team (South East Belfast) has improved steadily over the years & we finally broke West Belfast Guider's monopoly as Belfast County Guider Captain Ball trophy winners in 2004.

West beat us in the final the following year to regain the trophy in 2005 but we didn't give up & won it back again in 2006 before going on to retain the title in 2007.

In 2008 only two Guider teams entered so we were straight into the final. Unfortunately after a very tight match we lost but that was all that was needed to renew the enthusiasm with players talking about actually training with a few practise matches before next year's matches! What?

South East & West Guiders after a fun, 6-a-side semi-final match in Willowfield on 20th March 2007.
South East won the match 17-5 thanks to Olive coming out of retirement to play a great game as centre.

The team went on to beat Mersey Street 15-11 in the Final at St Matthews on 26th March 2007.
In doing so we lifted the Belfast Guider Captain Ball trophy (this time with a full compliment of players) for the second year in a row.
