This year the South East Belfast Division Play-Offs for Guide Captain Ball took place on Thursday 18th February 2010 in St Finnian's church hall as the big hall at Willowfield was under repair following a burst pipe. A number of teams dropped out in the week leading up to the play-offs leaving just Willowfield and St Finnian's to face off. Well done to our girls finishing the night unbeaten especially with some new players who only learnt how to play two nights before. Some brilliant defending from Naomi outside the back circle. In the end St Finnian's A went through to the Belfast County Semi Finals on goal difference.

Once again only three teams entered this year's Sout East Division play-offs. The matches were played on Thursday 5th March 2009 at 7pm in Willowfield. St Andrews went through to represent the division at Belfast County semi-finals after beating St Finnians 31-1 and Willowfield 35-0. The semi-finals will be held at Willowfield on Thursday 19th March at 7pm with the two strongest teams qualifying for Belfast County Finals in St Matthew's, Shankhill Road, on Wednesday 1st April.

As a fairly young and inexperienced team our girls did their best but were unable to hold their own against a much taller and older St Andrews team. We were down 24 goals at half time but fought harder in the second half only letting in a further 11. A few more inches in height and another year wiser and the girls will be ready to take on the challenge again next year. We finished the night with a friendly game between our Willowfield team and St Finnians. This was a much more even pairing as the girls were of similar ages and heights and the final score reflected this. St Finnians scored first with a single goal in the first half of the match but our girls came back to equalize with a goal of their own in the second half. The final score, a 1-1 draw, reflected just how close the game was. A big thank you to all the girls who turned out to play especially our newest enrolled Guides ... Naomi, Niamh, Megan and Alice.

GUIDER CAPTAIN BALL: As only two Guider teams entered the 2009 competition South East Guiders played Mersey Street Guiders in the Belfast County final on 1st April 2009 at St Matthews, Shankill Road and WON!!!

With only three Guide teams entered for our division this year we all played each other in the play-offs at Willowfield on Tuesday 1st April. We had a fun night but our players were a lot younger than most of the opposition and in the end were beaten by age and experience but it all builds experience for future competitions.

St Andrews won the South East Competition and went on to represent the division in the Belfast County Semi finals on 8th April at St John's, Malone, where they were beaten by a very strong St John's Guide team 46-2. The overall Guide winners for 2008 were Belmont (East) who beat St John's, Malone (South) in the final on 16th April at St Matthews (Shankill Road).
